AC Wallet is available exclusively to Aeroplan Members.

Sign up today to take advantage of AC Wallet and all the exciting features, benefits, and rewards of the Aeroplan program.

AC Wallet as a credit option is available exclusively to Aeroplan Members.

AC Wallet credits can be acquired when you cancel an eligible unused ticket* and refundable travel options and choose the option to receive a credit to your AC Wallet.

If you choose AC Wallet as a credit option, you will receive a credit equal to the value of your original fare (including taxes*), minus any change fees.

* AC Wallet is not available as a credit option for Economy Basic fares, or for tickets purchased with Aeroplan points. Other exceptions apply. See complete terms and conditions.

When you cancel a flight and choose AC Wallet as a credit option, your credit will be logged in your AC Wallet.

Simply sign in to your Aeroplan account to see your complete AC Wallet details, including your transaction history, the expiry dates of each credit, and more.

NOTE: It may take up to 3-4 business days after your transaction for your credit to appear on your AC Wallet dashboard.

When you book a flight * for yourself or someone else, or purchase Air Canada travel options ** online or on the Air Canada mobile app, you will be offered the option to apply all or a portion of your AC Wallet on the payment page.

Just make sure you’re signed in to your Aeroplan account when making a booking to see AC Wallet as a payment option.

* AC Wallet credits cannot be used to cover the cash portion of an Aeroplan flight reward.
** AC Wallet credits cannot be used to purchase services offered by our partners, such as travel insurance, Cancel for Any Reason, and carbon offsets.

You don’t need to fly before your AC Wallet expires.

You do, however, need to apply your AC Wallet credits toward a new purchase before they expire.

You can complete your travel later, based on flights available for purchase.

When using AC Wallet as a form of payment, credits with the closest expiration date will be deducted first from your AC Wallet.

It’s also important to keep in mind that AC Wallet credits/expiration dates cannot be extended. Reservations need to be made by the expiration date.

AC Wallet can be used on our website or on the Air Canada mobile app to book flights * or to pay for Air Canada travel options ** such as Air Canada Bistro vouchers, seat selection, and Maple Leaf Lounge access.

Just make sure you’re signed in to your Aeroplan account when making a booking to see AC Wallet offered as a payment option.

* AC Wallet credits cannot be used to cover the cash portion of an Aeroplan flight reward.
** AC Wallet credits cannot be used to purchase services offered by our partners, such as travel insurance, Cancel for Any Reason, and carbon offsets.

If you are an Aeroplan Member, you will be offered the option of an AC Wallet credit anytime you cancel an eligible fare and refundable travel options*.

Your AC Wallet will also be updated when you use a credit to purchase a flight or Air Canada travel options.

All your transactions, including the expiry date associated with each of your credits, are clearly listed on your AC Wallet for quick and easy reference anytime.

* AC Wallet is not available for Economy Basic fares. Other exceptions apply. See complete terms and conditions.

When you cancel a flight, you’ll receive the amount of your original ticket value in the form of an AC Wallet credit, minus the applicable change fees.

Have you noticed a discrepancy in your AC Wallet transactions? Let us know and we’ll be happy to help sort things out.

If you choose AC Wallet as a credit option when you cancel a booking, all the unused value of your ticket is logged into your AC Wallet and becomes a credit.

This means that any originally refundable portion of your ticket also becomes an AC Wallet credit and is no longer refundable.

AC Wallet credits offer an alternative form of compensation for eligible flight delays, cancellations, or denied boarding under relevant passenger rights regulations. These credits have no expiration date. If you prefer to receive AC Wallet credits instead of cash, you must explicitly consent to this arrangement.

Yes! If you would like to use your AC Wallet to purchase a ticket * for someone else, you will need to book the flight for them and apply your AC Wallet credits on the payment page.

Be sure to sign in to your Aeroplan account when making a booking to see AC Wallet as an option on the payment page.

AC Wallet credits are not transferrable.

NOTE: If the traveller for whom you wish to book a flight also has an AC Wallet, do not sign into their Aeroplan account. If you do, the system will access their AC Wallet instead of yours.

* AC Wallet credits cannot be used to cover the cash portion of an Aeroplan flight reward.

Yes, it is possible to distribute an AC Wallet credit among more than one passenger on the same booking. However, each passenger receiving their portion of the credit must have an Aeroplan account for the credit from a ticket to be logged in their AC Wallet. Not an Aeroplan Member? Sign up today

No. Only credits from one AC Wallet can be applied as a form of payment to make a reservation * . However, AC Wallet can be combined with other forms of payment, such as a credit card or an Air Canada Gift Card.

* AC Wallet credits cannot be used to cover the cash portion of an Aeroplan flight reward.

Access to AC Wallet is controlled by your Aeroplan access. Any fraudulent use of your AC Wallet will be investigated. Air Canada is not liable for any unauthorized use of your Aeroplan Membership number and password, AC Wallet or your payment card information – please keep these details safe and confidential.

AC Wallet is a ledger where an Aeroplan member tracks eligible unused ticket values and refundable travel options (e.g., seat selection, meals, Maple Leaf Lounge access) as credit which may be used to purchase flight tickets and other eligible travel options of Air Canada, Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge.

The following are excluded from eligibility and cannot be logged in AC Wallet:

If you are unsure if your booking is eligible or if you have imminent travel plans, please contact us at 1-888-247-2262 (other numbers), or contact your travel agency or online travel website.

Eligible passengers may also receive AC Wallet credits as an alternative form of compensation for flight delays, cancellations, or denied boarding, in accordance with applicable passenger rights regulations. These credits do not expire. To opt for AC Wallet credits instead of cash, passengers must explicitly consent to this arrangement.

Admissibility

AC Wallet is linked to an Aeroplan account. To qualify for the AC Wallet and redeem credits, you must be an Aeroplan Member in good standing. If you are not an Aeroplan Member, you can enroll today. Membership is free. View the Aeroplan program general Terms and Conditions.

Validity

Credit in AC Wallet must be used by the expiration date, unless it does not expire, as indicated in the AC Wallet or at time of issuance. Creditable taxes, and third-party fees and charges do not expire. Travel can occur after the expiry date.
If an Aeroplan account is closed, all funds remaining in AC Wallet shall be forfeited.

Transferability

Once logged in one AC Wallet, credits cannot be logged in another AC Wallet instead. However, AC Wallet can be used to purchase an eligible travel booking for another person. In the event of cancellation, the value of the booking shall not be logged in the purchaser's AC Wallet, as the credit(s) associated with the new booking belongs to the ticketed passenger(s).

Redemption

AC Wallet can be used as a form of payment:

AC Wallet credits cannot be used:

Credits tracked in one AC Wallet can be used per purchase in combination with either one of these forms of payment: credit card, Air Canada Gift Card, Air Canada Travel Voucher or eCoupon.

Except as otherwise stated herein, the services purchased from Air Canada by using credits tracked in AC Wallet shall be subject to the General Conditions of Carriage of Air Canada.

Changes to your reservation and credit creation

When you make a change to your booking, you can either:

  1. Track the entire booking in one AC Wallet
One ticketed passenger tracks the entire value of the tickets and refundable travel options for all passengers to their AC Wallet.
  2. Each passenger individually tracks credits in their respective AC Wallets
Each ticketed passenger tracks the unused value of their tickets and refundable travel options in their respective AC Wallets.

The credit will be tracked in the currency in which the ticket was purchased, if it is purchased in one of the following currencies: AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, DKK, EUR, GBP, HKD, INR, JPY, KRW, NOK, SEK, TWD, USD. If the ticket is issued in an unsupported currency, the credit will be converted to a supported currency corresponding to that of the Aeroplan account.

AC Wallet currency will be mapped to the country of residence of the Aeroplan profile. Any unsupported currency will be mapped to a supported currency. Credits logged in AC Wallet will be in either the currency of the country of residence specified in the Aeroplan profile or a supported currency, depending on the situation.

If the country of residence in the Aeroplan account changes, the currency balance will not be updated. Once the balance reaches $0, any new credits will be issued in the currency of the new country of residence.

Currency conversion rates to be used are those valid on the date of original ticket issuance.

Changes to your reservation may be subject to a penalty fee, as per fare rules of the ticket the credit is associated with. The applicable penalty is deducted from the total creditable amount.

If you make changes to reservations that were purchased with your AC Wallet, the value of the unused ticket will be credited and logged back to your AC Wallet. It is important to note that the credit will retain the expiry date of the original ticket.

Tickets purchased on behalf of an infant or child will be logged in the AC Wallet of a selected adult on the same booking.

Just like the tickets they are associated with, credits are non-refundable. They cannot be extended or exchanged for cash.
